My T301G Review
To begin with, the Samsung T301G is a stylish slider phone power packed with many useful features. This was one of the most awaited phones in the market. It is certainly better than the LG600G and the earlier model Samsung T101G. It’s a smart looking GSM phone with that just needed slider option. It looks to be a good deal at $50 on Tracfone considering its overall performance.
Have a look at the best features:
- Even though it’s a slider phone, it’s very lightweight, the weight being about 2.94 ounces. Also, it’s very compact with a 5.5 inch height (when opened), 1.95 inch width and about .58 inch thickness.
- It’s loaded with double minutes, mp3 ring tones, Bluetooth and much more.
- The best part is that it looks really attractive even when it’s closed i.e. without the slider.
- The elegance is of this phone is neatly combined with the large screen. Also, all the information can be looked upon even when the phone isn’t opened and the phone gets locked after 30 seconds of you have shut the slider.
- Samsung struck bull’s eye as pushing any button won’t unlock but will show all important information in waiting and most importantly, the clock as well and that too, without opening it.
- This phone is pretty good in terms of strength and being compact. Also, the screen is resistant to fingerprints.
- It has got a good no. of nice ring tones, average games, a solid VGA camera and a nice speaker.
- The voice quality is really good compared to that of the previous model T101g and there’s no problem while attending calls. The in call as well as the speaker volume is quite satisfactory. But it still can’t beat W376G in this department.
- The battery life fits perfectly on the price paid. You can easily use the phone moderately for up to 4 days. The Bluetooth also works nicely.
Though it’s a pretty useful phone overall, but it still isn’t perfect.
Some of the pitfalls:
- The first negative thing that comes to mind when you talk about this phone is that it doesn’t show who has sent you the text message.
- The browser system does not go well with the data downloads. It takes a lot of time to have that stuff transferred.
- The camera produces a nice resolution of 640*480 but won’t give a detailed good quality print.
- Slide angle viewing in T301g produces distortion. The screen angle is not quite comfortable for many.
So overall, seems to be a nice, strong and compact phone and almost fits its price. Overall a good buy compared to W376 but not to LG600G.
Have you tried the Samsung T301G yourself?
If you own the T301G phone, or used to use one with your Tracfone service, please let me know in the comments or our forums. Your review and overall rating would be great to know as well.
Thanks!
